Floating Docks Built Around Your Waterfront

Beach Bumz Marine designs and installs custom CanDock floating dock systems for Michigan waterfronts — from simple swim platforms to complete dock layouts with integrated PWC and boat access.

The Basics

What Is CanDock?

CanDock is a modular floating dock system built from durable, interconnected floating cubes and components. Instead of being limited to a fixed dock layout, CanDock can be configured around your shoreline, water conditions, and the way you actually use your waterfront.

Because the system is modular, a narrow walkway can open into a large swim platform, incorporate PWC or boat access, or be expanded and reconfigured later. Since the entire system floats, it can also be an excellent solution for soft bottoms, changing water levels, and shorelines where a traditional sectional or roll-in dock may be difficult to use.

  • Changing water levels
  • Difficult or irregular shorelines
  • Swimming platforms
  • Drive-on PWC access
  • Boat access
  • Custom waterfront layouts
  • Expanding or reconfiguring later

Why CanDock

Why Michigan Waterfront Owners Choose CanDock

Six reasons homeowners on our lakes keep coming back to the modular approach.

Modular by Design

The system is built from interlocking floating components, so the layout can be shaped around your shoreline and the way you actually use the water.

Handles Changing Water Levels

Because the dock floats with the water, it stays at a consistent height relative to the surface — helpful where fixed-height docks become awkward through the season.

Low Maintenance

No wood decking to stain, seal, or replace and no seasonal leveling of dock legs. CanDock is designed for long-term waterfront use with very little routine maintenance.

Custom Layouts

Straight runs, L and T shapes, wide platforms, swim areas, PWC sections — configured around your property rather than a fixed catalog size.

Comfortable Waterfront Access

Wider sections give you room for seating, swimming, boarding watercraft, and simply spending time on the water.

Professional Design & Installation

We evaluate your shoreline, water depth, bottom conditions, exposure, anchoring needs, and how you use the water. From there, Beach Bumz designs the layout and handles delivery and professional installation.

Michigan Seasons

CanDock and Michigan Seasons

One of CanDock's biggest advantages for Michigan waterfront owners is that many properly designed and anchored systems can remain in the water year-round — eliminating the annual spring installation and fall removal routine of a traditional dock.

We are careful not to promise it for every property. Whether a year-round install makes sense depends on real conditions at your shoreline:

  • Ice movement
  • Wave and wind exposure
  • Lake conditions
  • Anchoring approach
  • Local shoreline conditions

We will walk your situation through with you and tell you plainly whether we would leave it in over winter or pull it.

Built for Long-Term Waterfront Use

CanDock's modular cubes are backed by a 20-year manufacturer's warranty. Combined with durable construction, low maintenance, and the ability to expand or reconfigure your layout in the future, CanDock is designed to be a long-term investment in your waterfront.

Beach Bumz also designs each system around the conditions at your property, because proper layout and anchoring are just as important as the dock itself.

PWC Access

Add Drive-On PWC Access

CanDock can integrate drive-on PWC ports directly into your floating dock layout, giving your jet skis or wave runners their own dedicated space while keeping the hull out of the water when not in use.

  • Easy boarding right from the dock surface
  • Drive-on, drive-off convenience
  • Keeps the hull out of the water when not in use
  • Integrates into the dock layout instead of sitting apart

Boat Access

Drive-On Access for Compatible Boats

CanDock offers drive-on solutions for many compatible boats weighing up to approximately 6,000 lbs, depending on the boat and application.

Important compatibility information

  • Conventional pontoons and tritoons are not compatible with this drive-on application.
  • The Sea-Doo Switch is an exception and can be supported in properly designed configurations.
  • Boat weight alone does not determine compatibility. Hull design, beam, length, weight distribution, and other factors all need to be considered.

Tell us your boat's year, make, model, and approximate weight and we'll help determine whether a CanDock drive-on system is the right solution. If it isn't, we can help size a traditional boat lift instead.

Honest Comparison

Is a Floating Dock Right for Your Waterfront?

CanDock isn't the right solution for every waterfront. In some situations, a traditional aluminum sectional or roll-in dock is the better fit — and Beach Bumz offers those systems too.

CanDock tends to shine when you have…

  • Water levels that move noticeably through the season
  • Soft, mucky, or otherwise difficult shoreline and lake bottom
  • A swimming-focused layout in mind
  • An irregular shoreline that needs an unusual shape
  • Plans to integrate drive-on PWC access
  • A preference for a floating surface underfoot

A sectional or roll-in dock may fit better when…

  • The bottom is firm and water depth is stable
  • You prefer a rigid, fixed-height walking surface
  • Seasonal installation and removal isn't a concern
  • The layout is a simple straight run with a conventional boat lift
  • Your boat is a conventional pontoon or tritoon needing lift storage
